Imports of plant products to the Chelyabinsk Region collapsed by 31%

About 17.5 thousand lots of goods of plant origin were imported into the Chelyabinsk region in 2024. This is 31% less than a year earlier, reports the press service of the Urals Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor on Friday, January 17.

As specified in the department, in 2023, officials of the department controlled 25.4 thousand batches of plant goods, which passed through temporary storage warehouses or checkpoints across the state border of Russia.

In the past 2024 also recorded a decrease in exports of plant products and other goods. For example, the export of timber and sawn timber decreased by 54%, and the export of vegetables, fruits, grain and potatoes - by 21%.

At the same time, imports to the region remained practically at the same level, writes IA "Ura.ru". Thus, in 2024 in the Chelyabinsk region imported and controlled 4.277 thousand lots of goods, and a year earlier - 4.379 thousand lots.
