In the Omsk region, a woman beat up an 11-month-old child after he smeared himself with ash in the stove. This was reported on January 17 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICRF) in the region.

It is specified that the incident occurred on January 12 in the village of Yurievo. The woman, who had a previous conviction for theft, kicked her young son at least three times on the body. The child was found to have fractured ribs and other bodily injuries.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case under the article on causing serious harm to the health of a minor (item "b" part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

"On the initiative of the investigation, the court elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention for two months. The court took into account that the accused at the time of committing unlawful acts was under supervision as a probationary convict", - stated on the website of the agency.

At present, the investigation of the criminal case continues, during the investigative actions will be given a legal assessment of the actions of the authorities that exercised control over the accused.

On the same day it was reported that in the Moscow region a man regularly beat his five children. A criminal case was opened on this fact, an investigation is underway.
