Galaktionova called her main task to increase the value of the Pushkin Museum

Director General of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts Olga Galaktionova told Izvestia on January 17 that her main task in her new position will be to preserve and increase the value of the institution.

Previously, she headed the State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSIZO. According to her, its cooperation with the Pushkin Museum will be expanded.

In a conversation with Izvestia Galaktionova stressed that ROSIZO has a strong team, and this museum center will not turn "off its rails", expanding its work not only with the State Museum of Fine Arts, but also with other institutions. Olga Galaktionova noted that it is premature to talk about specific plans for the Pushkin Museum.

The appointment of Olga Galaktionova as Director of the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts was announced by Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova earlier in the day.

On the eve, January 16, Elizaveta Likhacheva informed "Izvestia" about her decision to leave the post of the head of the Pushkin Museum. She became the head of the museum in March 2023, replacing Marina Loshak, who had been in charge of the museum since 2013.
