Peskov pointed to the huge support of Putin by the population

Russian President Vladimir Putin enjoys tremendous support of the population. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on January 17.

On the same day, VTsIOM and FOM presented the results of polls that showed the level of trust in the Russian leader at 78.3 and 79%.

"You know that a slight volatility takes place both in the plus and minus sides, but in general we can state, even if we abstract from these minor volatilities, Putin, of course, enjoys huge support of the population," Peskov said at a briefing.

In addition, the Kremlin spokesman noted that the results of the polls have an impact on the success of the Special Military Operation (SMO). According to him, this is an important factor "for the enthusiasm of fellow citizens."

Earlier, on January 9, according to the results of the VTsIOM poll, Putin became the leader of the rating of the main politicians of 2024. The Russian president has consistently held the first place in this rating since its compilation began in 2006.

Peskov noted back in early July 2024 that the high level of support for Putin among Russians was due to the results of his daily responsible work.
