Two Russians injured in an accident with a bus and a cement truck in Sri Lanka are in serious condition. This was reported to "Izvestia" on January 17 in the Russian Embassy.

"We confirm the report of an accident on the southern expressway of Sri Lanka involving a bus carrying Russians. It was going on an excursion organized by a local tour operator. A total of 12 of our tourists were injured, two of them in serious condition," - stated in the message.

According to the Russian Embassy, the head of the consular department of the diplomatic mission will go on Saturday, January 18, to the hospital in Tangalle, where the victims are.

The Tangalle Base Hospital told Izvestia that 12 Russians were hospitalized after the accident with minor injuries, two patients had serious leg injuries.

The accident in Sri Lanka became known earlier in the day. The bus at high speed crashed into the rear of a truck. At the time of the accident in public transportation were 30 people. The bus driver died, 19 people were also injured.
