China's Defense Ministry points to a high level of military cooperation with Russia
Practical military cooperation between China and the Russian Federation is at a high level. This was stated by Wu Qian, spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defense, on January 17.
"Adhering to the guiding diplomatic line outlined by the two heads of state, the armed forces of China and Russia are developing practical cooperation at a high level," he emphasized, commenting on the results of China's foreign military policy for 2024. His words are quoted by the press service of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
According to him, China's military-diplomatic goals in the past year were to create a favorable strategic situation, resolutely protect national interests, expand multilateral diplomacy and deepen joint exercises and training.
Earlier, on January 16, retired military expert Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk said that the armies of Russia, China and the United States are at approximately the same level of military power. According to him, it is assessed by three indicators - the level of economy, mobilization capabilities, as well as the size and quality of the army.
On December 19 last year, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russian-Chinese cooperation has become in recent decades what it has never been before. He attributed this primarily to the development of relations between the two countries on the basis of mutual trust.
December 17, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted that three meetings between Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2024 had contributed to the deepening of cooperation between the countries. On December 13, the Russian Foreign Ministry said it intends to strengthen dialog with China and coordination on missile aspects of strategic stability.
