A resident of Khabarovsk has been detained on suspicion of collecting information for the Main Intelligence Directorate (GID) of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. This was reported on January 17 in the press service of the FSB of Russia in Khabarovsk Krai.

"Illegal activity of a Khabarovsk resident was suppressed, who proactively through a foreign messenger established cooperation relations on a confidential basis with representatives of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GUR in order to assist them in activities against the security of the Russian Federation," the department's statement was quoted by TASS.

It is specified that the accused collected information about law enforcement officers and civil and military Russian infrastructure facilities.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 275.1 of the Russian Criminal Code ("Cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state"). The accused is in custody.

Earlier, on January 10, it was reported that a resident of Yenakievo in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) was detained on suspicion of treason. According to preliminary data, the man repeatedly transferred money to electronic accounts from which AFU servicemen were financed.
