Emergency Situations Ministry warned of snowstorms and frost up to -48 degrees Celsius in Chukotka

Wind with snowstorms and frost up to -48 degrees Celsius are expected in Chukotka. This was reported on January 17 in the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

"On January 17, the eastern wind with intensifications up to 18 m / s is predicted. The air temperature across the district - 30-35 degrees below zero, in the continental part up to -48 degrees," - told in the department TASS.

It is specified that due to weather conditions a flight from the airport of Anadyr to the airport "Buchta Provideniya" was delayed.

Earlier, on January 14, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warned of wind gusts up to 33 m/s and frost up to -35 in Chukotka. At that time, the Egvekinot municipality and the Chukotka municipal district fell under the cyclone.
