Trump appointed Gibson, Stallone and Voight as special envoys to Hollywood
Actors Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone were appointed to the post of special envoys in Hollywood. This was announced by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on January 16 in the social network Truth Social.
"I am honored to announce Jon Voight, Mel Gibson and Sylvester Stallone as special ambassadors to a great but very troubled place - Hollywood, California," Trump said in the message.
He specified that with the help of new special envoys, the American president-elect plans to "bring back Hollywood," which has lost a lot of clients over the past four years who started working with foreign countries. Trump called Voight, Gibson and Stallone his new "eyes and ears."
Earlier, on January 4, Trump announced that Fox News journalist Tammy Bruce had been nominated to head the press office of the US State Department. He emphasized his confidence in Bruce's strength of conviction and fearlessness.
Prior to that, on December 25, 2024, Trump said he would nominate Florida official Kevin Cabrera as ambassador to Panama. He noted that Cabrera served as an official in Miami-Dade County in Florida and also worked on Trump's 2020 staff.
