SKA lost to Severstal 4:7 and suffered its fourth consecutive defeat in the KHL

In the regular season 2024/25 Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) SKA from St. Petersburg lost to Severstal Cherepovets 4:7, suffering its fourth consecutive defeat in the championship. The game took place on January 16.

David Dumbadze and Kirill Pilipenko scored double-doubles for the winners. Nikolai Chebykin, Mikhail Ilyin and Danil Aymurzin also scored. While SKA got two goals from Valentin Zykov, Ivan Demidov and Sergei Plotnikov each scored a goal.

SKA remained in seventh place in the Western Conference standings (55 points), while their opponent moved up two spots to fourth place (57 points).

Earlier, on January 12, the Omsk hockey club (HC) Avangard won its fourth consecutive victory in the regular championship of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), defeating Salavat Yulaev Ufa on its home ice. The meeting ended with a score of 3:2.
