Olympic champion, two-time Stanley Cup winner Russian defenseman Sergei Zubov was included in the symbolic team of the National Hockey League (NHL) club "Dallas Stars" for the last 25 years. This is evidenced by a publication on the league's website on January 16.

"As we look ahead to 2025, the NHL honors the best moments of the past 25 years by presenting quarter-century-winning teams for each of the league's 32 teams and the Arizona Coyotes," the post reads.

Zubov finds himself on the first symbolic team. Along with him, goaltender Marty Turco, defenseman Miro Heiskanen and forwards Jamie Benn, Jere Lehtinen and Mike Modano are included.

The second symbolic NHL team included goalie Ed Belfort, defensemen John Klingberg and Esa Lindell, and forwards Brenden Morrow, Joe Pavelski and Tyler Seguin.

It is specified that the players will be placed on the ballot for the NHL's 25th anniversary team. Voting by fans, who will choose one of the national teams, will begin in February.

Earlier, on January 12, the NHL website reported that in the regular league championship match against the Nashville Predators, Russian forward and captain of the Washington Capitals hockey club Alexander Ovechkin scored a puck, reducing the gap to Wayne Gretzky to 21 goals. Thus, the Russian has 873 goals in his NHL career.
