Chita airbase leased 10 airplanes for fire monitoring

The Chita base of aviation forest protection has signed six state contracts for the lease of 10 airplanes and one helicopter to monitor the fire situation in Transbaikalia in 2025. This was reported on Thursday, January 16, by the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.

We are talking about Cessna and Eurocopter airplanes, as well as Mi-8 helicopter. The airbase plans to conclude 12 more state contracts for the lease of An-2 and Mi-8 airplanes.

According to ChitaMedia IA, a total of 24 pieces of equipment will be rented before the fire season starts - 19 aircrafts for monitoring and five for firefighting.

Earlier it was reported that about 380 camera traps will be set up in the forests of the Transbaikal Territory to search for arsonists. Information from the devices will be immediately sent to the control center.
