Five more defendants in the criminal case of riots at Makhachkala airport convicted
Five more defendants in the criminal case of mass riots at the international airport of Makhachkala in the Republic of Dagestan have been convicted. This was reported by the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia on January 16.
"Vagab, Jamal, Najmudin, Alibek and Vadim Gadzhievs were found guilty of committing crimes under part 2 of article 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and part 3 of article 263.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation," the agency's Telegram channel said.
They are charged with participation in mass riots accompanied by violence, pogroms, destruction of property and the use of objects that pose a danger to others, as well as violation of transportation security requirements.
It is specified that the Gadzhievs were sentenced to imprisonment for a term of seven to eight years in a general regime colony.
As emphasized in the IC RF, the investigation proved the involvement of 142 people in the committed crimes. In addition, the preliminary investigation has been completed with respect to 135 people. "28 criminal cases have been sent to court for consideration on the merits. 7 persons are wanted, including 3 organizers of crimes", - noted in the department.
A total of 42 defendants have so far been found guilty in the case of mass riots in Makhachkala.
