MEP criticized Romania's accession to NATO
Romania has not benefited from joining NATO, while the country is forced to increase military spending, MEP and leader of the S.O.S Romania party Diana Shoshoake told Izvestia.
"Romania has become just a pawn of NATO, which is pushing us towards conflict, so I don't see any advantages of joining the bloc. We are forced to spend billions of dollars on weapons that we see never come to Romania <...> they are sent to Ukraine for free, like the famous Patriot system," Diana Shoshoake said.
The politician also said she was in favor of a referendum on Romania's withdrawal from NATO. According to the MEP, the vote should have been held when Bucharest joined the North Atlantic Alliance in 2004.
