REN TV will show the legendary series "ZIG ZAG Gang" to mark the day of lifting the siege of Leningrad.

The series "ZIG ZAG Gang", the author of the idea of which is the general director of REN TV channel Vladimir Tyulin, is based on real events that took place in Leningrad in the winter of 1941.

Food stocks dried up, supplies were blocked. The besieged city was dying of hunger: per day employees, dependents and children were given 125 grams of bread. It was then that a gang appeared in Leningrad, engaged in fraud and robbery. The bandits made forging ration cards their main business, and chose the name "ZIG ZAG", which stood for "Defense of German Interests Banner of Adolf Hitler". The gang is opposed by an employee of the Leningrad UgRo Tikhon Lvov (Igor Petrenko) and a senior lieutenant of counterintelligence from Moscow Felix Svidersky (Alexander Ustyugov). They will have to find and neutralize the criminals before their actions lead to catastrophic consequences for the inhabitants of Leningrad.

The movie is based on real events, and it was preceded by serious work with archival materials. This work is about the cynical betrayal of the Motherland and compatriots, as well as about the heroes who found the strength to resist the criminals, showing character and professionalism, "- says the author of the idea and general producer of the series Vladimir Tyulin.

The key antagonist of the positive characters is a bandit Fyodor Kirillov (Pavel Trubiner), working for German intelligence. The main dramaturgy is built on this triangle. Viewers will see the clash of characters, strength, the confrontation of good and evil. The main female images created actresses Ekaterina Vilkova and Maria Lisova. The first plays a fatal beauty Zinaida, the mistress of the gang leader. And Maria Lisova embodied on the screen the image of selfless employee of the All-Union Institute of Plant Industry Julia Vinogradova. She stayed in Leningrad to save a unique Vavilov's collection of seeds.

REN TV channel thanks to these indicators took the undisputed first place among all domestic broadcasters for the week from January 22 to January 28, 2024. "ZIG ZAG BANDA" also became REN TV's most successful series of its own production, surpassing in rating and share the previous leader - the miniseries "OPERATION NEMAN".
