Rosptitsesoyuz reported a stable situation in the Russian poultry industry
At present, poultry production in Russia, as well as poultry prices, are stable. Galina Bobyleva, Director General of the Russian Poultry Union (Rosptitsesoyuz), told Izvestia on January 16.
On the eve of the American TV channel CNN reported that US citizens faced a shortage of eggs due to bird flu.
"Compared to what is happening in the United States, in Russia production remains stable, prices are stable, demand for products - both for eggs and meat - is fully satisfied," Bobyleva emphasized, specifying that there is no shortage in the market.
She added that in cases when small outbreaks of avian influenza occur in the Russian Federation, production is not reduced. All measures ensuring biosafety are taken in a timely manner.
In 2025, according to Bobyleva, it is planned to increase the volume of production, as well as to fulfill the tasks set for the agro-industrial complex.
"Poultry products are of great importance in the food market. In the total volume of meat resources we occupy within 46% - it is poultry meat. Everyone understands this responsibility. If we also take eggs, we occupy more than 35% in the production of animal protein products. Therefore, both the Ministry of Agriculture and Rosselkhoznadzor are taking all measures to prevent the disease of such a dangerous disease", - added the Director General of Rosptitsesoyuz.
At the end of December 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in agricultural organizations in January - November amounted to 12.5 million tons. This is 3.8% more than in the same period of 2023. Including the increase was observed in cattle (+5.6%), pigs (5.1%), poultry (+2.4%).
