Inauguration is a solemn ceremony of taking office of the new head of state. In the United States, it is held on January 20, 11 weeks after the end of the presidential election. The date has remained unchanged since the adoption of the 20th Amendment to the Constitution in 1993.
The swearing-in by Donald Trump and his vice president, Jay Dee Vance, will take place at 12:00 noon Washington, DC. From that time, the official countdown of their term of office begins.
The time difference between Moscow and Washington is eight hours: when in the US capital it will be noon, in the Russian capital the clock will show 20:00. Those wishing to watch the broadcast of the inauguration should connect to information resources half an hour earlier, so as not to miss Trump's opening speech, in which he will outline the main directions of his administration.

Inauguration of the US President today: how long the ceremony and Trump's speech will last
The presidential inauguration is a large-scale event that takes the whole day. Early in the morning, security services conduct the last checks before the start of the official events. Trump himself will head to the White House to hold a traditional tea party with former head of state Joe Biden and his family. The event symbolizes the peaceful transition of power.
At 11:30 Washington (19:30 Moscow time), Trump will give his opening speech to voters, and at exactly noon he will take the oath of office in the Capitol. A 21-gun salute will be fired in honor of the event. Singer Kid Rock and the band The Village People will perform at the ceremony.
Following the inaugural luncheon, the president and vice president will review the troops at the Capitol's East Façade before leading a ceremonial procession to the White House. The exact start time of the parade is unknown, but according to Sky News, it could begin around 15:00 (23:00) Moscow time. The Hill also reports that at the event will appear garbage truck, behind the wheel of which Trump appeared during his election campaign.
