The Russian Armed Forces destroyed a BMP in the border area of the Kursk Region with the help of the Lancet

Servicemen of the Russian military group "North", using a Lancet barrage munition, have destroyed an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) with a Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) troop in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 16.

The enemy vehicle was detected by air reconnaissance means. Having analyzed the received data, it was decided to apply fire impact against the BMP.

"Having waited for the right moment when the paratroopers would finish loading into the BMP, the Lancet ammunition calculation destroyed the BMP with the AFU fighters with an accurate hit," the ministry specified.

Frames of objective control recorded a direct hit and destruction of the vehicle.

Earlier on January 16, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the crew of the army aviation on the Mi-28NM helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group disrupted the rotation of AFU units in the border area of Kursk region.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by the President of the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the worsening situation in the region.
