Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Boris Kovalchuk held bilateral meetings with President of the UAE Accountability Office Humeid Obaid Abushibs and Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Akmatov. This was reported on January 16 on the website of the state audit body.
Thus, the parties discussed key issues of interagency cooperation, summarized the results of joint work within the framework of international audit organizations and outlined priority areas for further cooperation. Special attention at the meeting with the representative of the UAE was paid to the BRICS cooperation.
"The BRICS format is now gaining importance. The delegation of the United Arab Emirates VOA took an active part in the fourth meeting of the heads of the BRICS VOA (Supreme Audit Institutions. - Ed.), which was held in July this year in Ufa," - said Kovalchuk.
He also emphasized that the discussion focused on approaches to sustainable development auditing and proposed important initiatives to improve it, as well as on the fight against corruption. The parties expressed readiness to continue exchanging experience on the development of public audit institutions, improving the quality of work of SAIs and introducing digital solutions in their daily activities.
With the head of the Chamber of Accounts of Kyrgyzstan, in turn, interaction in the course of annual joint audits on the subject of import customs duties of the EAEU countries was discussed.
In addition, during the talks Boris Kovalchuk offered the SAO of the Kyrgyz Republic and the UAE to participate in international digital projects of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation - Digital University for the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and Repository of knowledge in the field of public audit.
Earlier, on January 14, Kovalchuk said that the Accounts Chamber returned a record amount of almost 94 billion rubles to budgets of all levels for 2024 . The indicator is comparable to the amount of funds that the Accounting Chamber managed to return over the past eight years, and the total economic effect of this work exceeded 130 billion rubles.
