Between 90 billion and 160 billion rubles may be required to lay new railroad lines and repair old ones between Crimea and central Russia through the new regions. This amount was announced by the head of the Russian Center for Transport Pavel Ivankin.

Exit from the peninsula will be carried out through Dzhankoy and Novoalekseevskaya to Zaporozhye region, and further through the railroads of Novorossiya. This will require the restoration of some sections of the railroad bed and the construction of a number of connecting branches.

According to Ivankin, the range of fluctuations in the cost of the project is due to differences in the possible options for laying the route and assessment of the current state of railway facilities.

As SevastopolMedia IA writes, the initiator of the construction of communication between the republic and the center of Russia through the new regions was Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin. He made this proposal to President Vladimir Putin during a meeting dedicated to the development of Crimea and Sevastopol.
