Created with the participation of National Media Group (NMG) comedy "Vasily", which will be released on January 23, throughout the film will periodically refer viewers to the cult films "Brat" and "Brat-2" directed by Alexei Balabanov. The new movie united several continents at once, but most importantly - the screenwriters managed to unite the family. So, at the beginning of the movie, the hero "Vasily" is offered to fly to Mexico and save his brother. And good Vasily will fly to save the swindler Kolya, who contacted a bad company in Mexico and betrayed his twin brother. To convey to the viewer the philosophical meaning of the story decided just with the help of "Brother".
"I found out that I have a Mexican family," says the hero of actor Alexander Petrov in one of the scenes of the movie.
"There's this theme of the brother and the journey that refers us back to an iconic thing. It seems to us that just the character Vasily himself, when he flies, he associates himself with Bagrov," - said the director Dmitry Litvinenko to the columnist of "Izvestia" Victor Sineoku.
The directors achieved the similarity effect by choosing the right angle, the right movement in the frame, and even the right sweater. The viewer's eye always notices such details. Thus, a real, recognized, and most importantly, a folk classic appeared on the screen. That is a real Russian film language, noted Sineok.
Actor Petrov, who in "Vasily" plays two brothers at once, references to the movie director Balabanov considers almost obligatory.
"We have it all in our blood: and" Brother ", and" Brother 2 ". I think it was even strange not to take these things. This is our Russian soul, just as we have a lot from Esenin, we have a lot from Vysotsky", - Petrov noted.

After nine months, the boy is taken away by an American family, and he becomes James Rose. The young man dreams of returning to Russia to find his mother.
The premiere teaser of the film "Vasily" took place on June 27, 2024. The picture, whose plot unfolds between Russia and Mexico, is a new joint project of Art Pictures Studio, "Hydrogen", National Media Group and "Plus Studio" with the support of the Cinema Fund. According to producer and Art Pictures Studio founder Fyodor Bondarchuk, "Vasily" was a new experience for the team in creating an international comedy, which is no easier to shoot than a large-scale sci-fi movie.
