Dentist told about the negative impact of cold on tooth enamel
SM-Stomatology dentist Pavel Lysenkov told us on January 16 what negative impact cold has on tooth enamel and how to avoid it.
"All tissues of our body have a physical property to contract in the cold and expand in the heat. Therefore, temperature fluctuations lead to the appearance of microcracks on the surface of the enamel of teeth," he said in a conversation with "Gazeta.Ru".
According to Lysenkov, the risk of damage increases when drinking hot or carbonated drinks on the street. The expert also advised to talk less in the cold.
"This also leads to enamel injuries and drying of the oral mucosa," he specified.
In addition, the doctor emphasized that at any symptoms of tooth sensitivity should immediately go to the dentist, because the specialist will be able not only to carry out treatment, but also to choose preventive and hygienic means to further reduce sensitivity.
Earlier, on January 5, dentist Yegana Marufidi told about a safe way to whiten teeth. According to her, the best system is Zoom-4. It affects the enamel in a gentle way and can whiten teeth by several tones. The expert also emphasized that painful sensations mean a violation of the rules of the procedure.
