UAV crews destroyed a German-made Leopard tank and an AFU stronghold
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the 35th Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Center group of troops have destroyed a German-made Leopard tank and a stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) on the Krasnoarmeyskoye direction of the special operation. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 16.
The equipment and the stronghold were destroyed by the Atlant battalion with the help of FPV drones on fiber optics. After that, the assault units cleared the dugouts and continued further advance.
The drone calculations of the Guards motorized rifle unit daily destroy armored fighting vehicles, including foreign-made ones, as well as ammunition depots, observation posts and enemy manpower. Thanks to this, enemy rotations on the line of contact are disrupted and Russian units can continue their offensive.
Earlier, on January 15, calculations of FPV-drones of the Army Corps of the Army Group "North" destroyed armored vehicles, a machine gun nest and concentrations of AFU fighters. It was noted that the drone is prepared for flight in a few minutes, and its combat unit can be attached to different ammunition. Having disrupted the rotation of Ukrainian militants, the calculation provided the AFU units with an offensive.
The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
