Hyacinth-S missiles destroyed camouflaged positions and AFU manpower in the DNR

Hyacinth-S self-propelled cannon crews of the Guards All-Russian Army of the "West" group of forces have destroyed camouflaged positions, artillery pieces and concentrations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) while carrying out firing missions. The Russian Defense Ministry said on January 16.

"Every day we perform firing tasks, mainly conducting counter-battery combat," said the gun commander Gennady.

It is specified that the calculations of "Hyacinth-S" received accurate coordinates from scouts, after which they deployed the guns and made a precise strike on enemy positions. Thanks to the successful actions of the artillerymen, they managed to destroy camouflaged artillery guns, an automatic grenade launcher and the living force of the AFU fighters. The crews then returned to a safe place to replenish their ammunition.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of Russian servicemen flew to the enemy position and confirmed the defeat of all targets.

The artillery calculations of the "West" group of troops conduct continuous combat work around the clock against all types of targets, delivering precise strikes on enemy positions, their installations, equipment and manpower. The gun is capable of hitting the enemy at a distance of 30 kilometers with various types of shells, thanks to which the artillerymen are able to carry out their tasks in safe positions.

Earlier, on January 15, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the D-30 122-millimeter howitzers of the motorized rifle regiment of the "West" group of forces destroyed Bradley BMPs and AFU strongholds. Artillerymen perform fire cover for the actions of motorized rifle and assault units in the zone of the SSO, destroying targets at a distance of more than 15 km, the Defense Ministry said.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
