Brent crude oil prices exceeded $82 per barrel for the first time since August 2024

The cost of Brent oil has exceeded $82 per barrel for the first time since August 13, 2024. This was evidenced by the data of the London Stock Exchange ICE on January 15.

It is specified that as of 22:46 Moscow time, the price of futures with delivery in March 2025 rose by 2.85%, reaching the cost of $82.2 per barrel of oil products.

In addition, based on exchange data, the price of September futures for WTI also rose, but by 2.73% to $79.08 per barrel.

Earlier, on January 13, Bloomberg reported that oil reached a five-month high after the U.S. imposed large-scale sanctions against Russia. Brent oil is trading above $80 per barrel.

Prior to that, on December 19, BitRiver financial analyst Vladislav Antonov told Izvestia that forecasts indicate moderate stability in the oil sector. The price of Brent oil at the end of 2024 is expected to be in the range of $70-95.5 per barrel.
