In Kursk region, a 33-year-old resident of Glushkovsky district has been accused of high treason and transfer of information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces to the special services of Ukraine, as well as an attempt on the life of a serviceman. This was reported on January 15 on the website of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.
"He is charged under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason in the form of espionage"), part 1 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal storage of explosives and explosive devices"), Art. 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer and a serviceman in order to obstruct lawful activity")", - noted in the message.
It is noted that the man was recruited by employees of the Ukrainian special service. From June to August 2023, he transmitted information about the locations and routes of movement of the Russian army and the coordinates of the location of communication lines of units of the Russian Armed Forces on the section of the state border.
In addition, the accused illegally stored explosive devices at his place of residence.
The criminal case has been sent to the Kursk regional court for consideration on the merits.
Earlier, on December 12, 2024, a resident of Kursk region was sentenced to 22 years of imprisonment in the case of state treason and commission of a terrorist act. He was also given a fine of 400 thousand rubles and restriction of freedom for a period of two years. It was found that from November 2023 to February 2024 he collected and transferred to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) data on transport infrastructure facilities to the detriment of Russian security.
