Damage to the backbone communication cable in Tatarstan, which led to Internet outages for almost 4 million users, has been eliminated and communication has been restored. This was reported by the republic's mincifry in Telegram on January 15.

"According to information received from the branch of "Rostelecom" in Tatarstan, fiber optic communication cable, damaged during excavation work, in the village of Tsarevo restored. The signal levels have been checked, the damage to the backbone cable has been eliminated," the report says.

Problems with access to the Internet arose approximately 3.8 million users in 21 subjects of the country.

The cable breakage in Tatarstan on the Tyulyachi - Novaya Tura section was reported earlier in the day. It was noted that emergency recovery teams were working at the site.
