Two freight trains collided in the area of the Bulgarian capital Sofia, there are victims. This was reported by BTV TV channel on Wednesday, January 15.

The accident occurred after 16:00 local time (17:00 Moscow time). A fire started at the scene of the accident. Medics, firefighters and police arrived to the scene of the incident.

Preliminary, six people were injured. Two of them are in serious condition, four received minor injuries. Two people are also reported missing.

The cause of the incident is still unknown. Traffic on the railroad section has been suspended.

Earlier, on December 29, 2024, more than 10 people were injured when a train collided with a fire truck in the US state of Florida. Three firefighters and 12 people from the train were injured.
