To receive lump-sum payments in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (VOV) in April-May 2025 will not need to apply. This was announced by the Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov on January 15.

"All payments will be transferred by the Social Fund of Russia proactively, without demanding documents, in April-May 2025 before the celebration of Victory Day. It will not be necessary to submit an application to receive the payment," - his words are quoted by the press service of the Ministry of Labor in Telegram-channel.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on lump-sum payments in April-May 2025 to veterans of World War II and home front workers in connection with the 80th anniversary of Victory Day. The payment of Br80 thousand will be received by the war veterans and their widows, as well as young prisoners of concentration camps. Home front workers and a number of other categories of veterans will receive Br55 thousand.

At the end of December 2024, Putin declared 2025 the Year of Defender of the Fatherland. The decision was made in honor of the participants of the special military operation and in memory of the exploits of all ancestors. Along with this, he called to promote as a global value the victory over Nazism in 1945.

In 2025, May 9 marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. In January 1945, the USSR army launched an offensive on Berlin. At the end of hostilities at 00:43 Moscow time on May 9, the commanders-in-chief signed the act of unconditional surrender of Germany, which served as the end of World War II.
