Ussuriysk customs detected smuggling of chum salmon worth 20 million rubles
Ussuriysk customs officers seized about 18 tons of chum salmon from a Sakhalin man. He tried to send the fish illegally to one of the Asian countries. Earlier the offender had already smuggled 20 tons of fish across the border.
The total value of smuggled goods - 20 million rubles, reports IA UssurMedia with reference to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. It is established that the resident of Sakhalin signed a contract with a foreign company for the supply of fish. The chum salmon purchased for shipment was without accompanying documents.
The offender issued false veterinary certificates, which contained inaccurate data on the manufacturer, date of manufacture and expiration date. He applied fictitious labeling to the packaging.
The investigation found that the goods were shipped in installments. The first batch was sent abroad, while the second batch was stopped by Ussuriysk customs officers.
In addition, it was preliminarily established that the Sakhalin resident illegally transported about 4 tons of red caviar. The cargo under false documents was stored in a warehouse in Vladivostok. The illegal goods were seized by officers of the Federal Security Service of Primorsky Krai.
A criminal case was initiated against the entrepreneur. The man pleaded guilty to the offense. He is under the signature of non-departure.
Earlier, on December 18, 2024, in Moscow, officers of the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation detained a foreign student for organizing a channel for smuggling military products to China. During a search of his room, more than 100 Russian and Soviet-made military items were found.
