In Tatarstan, a cable break led to internet outages for almost 4 million users

The Center for Monitoring and Control of Public Communications Network has detected damage on the backbone fiber-optic communication line in Tatarstan, which caused problems with the Internet for almost 4 million users. This was reported by the press service of Roskomnadzor on January 15.

"On the section Tyulyachi - Novaya Tura there was a breakage of the trunk cable. Cable damage led to the degradation of broadband access services in 21 subjects of the Russian Federation for approximately 3.8 million users. Emergency recovery teams are working on the site. Tentative terms of elimination - 21:00 Moscow time," - stated in the message.

It is specified that in connection with the damage is possible slowdown of the Internet and failures in the work of services.

The day before in the work of Runet there was a large-scale failure, many users complained of problems in loading sites. Google, Liveinternet, Wikipedia, Russian Railways and other sites did not open. Later that day, the problem was fixed.
