Court arrests Colombian mercenary on charges of invading Kursk region

A Colombian citizen suspected of participating as a mercenary in the invasion of the Ukrainian army in Kursk Region has been arrested. This was reported in the joint press service of the judicial system of the region on January 15.

"By decision of the Leninsky district court of the city of Kursk elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention," - said in a message published in the Telegram-channel.

It was reported that the meeting was held in closed mode. In addition, the terms of detention of the mercenary were not specified.

Earlier, on January 13, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a criminal case on the implementation of a terrorist act (paragraphs "a", "v" of part 2 of article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and mercenarism (part 3 of article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against mercenary Lugo Jimenez from Paraguay, who is suspected of participation in the invasion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the territory of Kursk region.
