Volunteer Larisa Shultz, who helps rescue birds after the fuel oil spill in the Kerch Strait, told Izvestia on January 15 that it was her dream to hug a swan.

Earlier in the Network appeared a video in which the bird seems to thank the rescuer, wrapping his neck around her.

"I think every person dreams of hugging a dolphin, a swan and an elephant. This was really my dream and it happened on Christmas Day," the girl said.

The volunteer added that after the bird was washed, it was put in a makeshift aviary under a canopy. When the swan rested, it went out into the yard and flew away.

The rescue of a swan with fuel oil on its breast in Anapa became known earlier in the day. As told by a volunteer, the bird chose her immediately upon meeting and lay on her shoulder, while the girl herself helped to wash him and could not hold back tears.

Tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" due to bad weather crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. On the instructions of the Russian President, a working group was set up to coordinate the work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
