The rules of travel along the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MHD) will change from February 15. In the morning and evening rush hours tariffs will be from 5 to 45 rubles depending on the length of the route, but most of the time travel will remain free, the press service of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the capital told TASS.

Such a measure is needed to unload the highway and reduce the time of movement along it, the department noted. Tariffs may be revised if the load on the FFM reaches 6-7 points according to the service "Yandex.Traffic jams".

"The innovations are necessary to provide residents with a predictable, fast and direct connection between Moscow districts and federal highways and to make the trip on the FFM predictable in time," the department explained.

The changes will be in effect from 7 to 11 and from 16 to 20 hours on weekdays. They will affect 0.4% of all Moscow motorists. "Only 30-40 thousand unique users per day will pay from 15 to 45 rubles for travel, with the maximum price of 45 rubles for one trip on the diameter in busy hours - only 80 cars per day," - added the department.

Travel on any section of the FFM will be considered paid only if the car entered and left the site during the toll time. For example, if a car entered at 06:55 and left at 07:30 or entered at 10:55 and left at 11:30, the driver will not have to pay anything. The cost of all the trips made in a day will be summed up, after which the motorist will be billed a total payment within five days. Payment will be built through the application "Parking Russia", the website msd.mos.ru and third-party services, such as "Gosuservices" and bank applications. It is recommended to include notifications about the billing.

At the same time, the former rules for driving on the MSD will remain in place for 16 out of 24 hours, or 70% of the time of day, when the load does not exceed the critical mark. Weekends and holidays will remain the same as before, too. There will be no changes to the CKAD-MSD-CKAD transit pass.

The main section of the diameter was put into operation at the end of 2022, and from January 2023 the MSD became a toll highway.
