In Transbaikalia during the fire season in 2025, 24 aircraft will be rented. Among them will be five Mi-8 helicopters and 19 vessels for aerial monitoring of territories.

According to the head of the Chita airbase Andrei Verkhushin, quoted by IA ChitaMedia, the authorities have already leased 11 aircraft of Cessna type, a small helicopter, a Eurocopter for monitoring, and terminated one Mi-8. Six more An-2s and three Mi-8s are scheduled to be put on the trading floor next week.

In late December, the head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Kurenkov , speaking about the likelihood of natural fires, singled out the southern regions of Transbaikalia, Tuva, Khabarovsk and Primorsky Krai. The rescue agency noted that in recent years more fires have broken out in the south of the Ural Federal District (UFD). Kurenkov attributed this phenomenon to climatic changes.
