Lada car production in Togliatti sets a new record

At the end of 2024, AvtoVAZ has increased car production by 40% to 525.5 thousand units. At the same time, the production volume of Lada cars at the Togliatti site has become a record for the last 10 years, said the head of the company Maxim Sokolov, as Izvestia correspondent reports from the press conference. The plan of car production for 2025 is 500 thousand units.

The average level of Lada localization has exceeded 95%, the company has fully replaced supplies from unfriendly countries, Sokolov said. During the year the production of cars with automatic transmission was resumed, localization of popular options continued. In total, AvtoVAZ put 14 new versions of cars on sale in 2024.

Sales of Lada commercial and passenger cars totaled 458.9 thousand units at the end of last year, which is 30.2% higher than in 2023. Record annual sales since 2015 were recorded for Vesta (123.5 thousand units). According to the company's estimates, the brand's share in the compact commercial vehicle segment is about 96%. Lada also maintains leadership in the Russian car market with the brand's share at 27%. Over the past year, deliveries abroad quadrupled, and the number of importing countries expanded to 20.

In addition, over the year the AvtoVAZ team increased to 47 thousand people, and the growth of the average salary for the main working specialties amounted to 34%, said the head of the company.

Also on this day, it was reported that AvtoVAZ has planned 15 major product events for 2025, including the launch of brand new models and the renewal of existing ones. One of the major new products will be the debut of the new Lada Iskra model, which will sit between the more affordable Granta and the flagship Vesta in the brand's lineup. The new Lada Iskra together with the pre-production version of the Lada Niva Sport were presented to the public at a press conference.
