Wheel disks from Japan will be subject to anti-dumping duty
The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) announced the introduction of anti-dumping duty on alloy wheels from Japan, Thailand, Turkey and Malaysia. This is reported on the website of the Commission.
When importing disks on the territory of the EAEU will have to pay from 9.38 to 42.82% of the customs value, depending on the country of production. The measure applies to disks with a diameter of 13 to 20 inches, regardless of whether they are equipped with tires or not, as well as for both new and used disks. The duty will be valid for five years.
The EEC stressed that the decision was made following the results of the anti-dumping investigation, which was launched on March 1, 2023 at the request of the association "Association of Producers, Suppliers and Consumers of Aluminum". It includes, among others, manufacturers of disks Power Wheels, Slik, K&K and Skad. The investigation found the existence of dumping imports of goods originating from the named countries and material damage to the sector of the economy of the Eurasian Economic Union, the statement said.
"The pricing policy of producers of cast aluminum wheel rims from dumping countries led to the fact that our own companies in the conditions of loss of share in the domestic market could not increase the selling price of goods commensurate with the growth of its cost. As a result, their sales became unprofitable, and the profitability of production - negative," - quoted on January 14 the words of the Minister for Trade of the EEC Andrei Slepnev.
December 27, 2024 it was reported that the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation proposed to introduce mandatory certification of car tires in Russia in order to comply with the requirements of tire manufacturers on the maximum permissible level of hazardous substances in their composition.
