In Moscow, 2.7 thousand couples filed 2.7 thousand applications for marriage registration in the period from January 1 to 8. This is reported on January 14 on the website of the Moscow mayor's office.

In the first days of the new year it was possible to apply only in the online format. It is chosen by more than 70% of couples, writes RT. In addition, January is one of the most popular months for wedding planning.

"The most popular places where applications were filed were marriage palaces No. 1 and No. 4, as well as offsite venues - the Royal Mansion, the National Hotel and the Opera House of the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve," the Moscow City News Agency quotes Svetlana Ukhaneva, head of the Moscow Civil Registry Office, as saying.

Thus, 124 couples applied for 14.02, 118 couples - for 25.02, 106 - for 15.02, 60 - for 25.05, site kp.ru specifies.

More than 50 venues are available for solemn ceremonies in Moscow, including marriage palaces, museums, subway stations, estates and restaurants. Couples can choose a location using the "Our Wedding" service on the mos.ru portal.

About 150 couples got married in the capital during the January holidays. The most popular date was January 4 - 56 couples registered their marriage. On January 7 in the capital 45 new families were created, writes "Moscow 24".
