The owner of a furniture shop that caught fire in Dagestan named a short circuit as a possible cause of the fire. He stated this in a conversation with Izvestia on January 15.

"A short circuit [occurred]. There, the compressor at the back and the paint shop next to it caught fire. The fire broke out and spread all over the area," Ramazan Baimuradov noted.

According to the owner, the roof of his house burned down and the shop burned out completely.

In addition, Sabir Makhmudov, deputy head of the main department of the state firefighting service, emphasized that the fire extinguishing process was complicated by a large fire load, as well as the presence of paint substances and materials. He added that there were no casualties.

The fire with the area of 1.5 thousand square meters on the territory of a furniture shop in the Dagestani town of Khasavyurt became known earlier in the day. It was specified that the fire spread to a residential house. Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on the localization of the fire. The regional prosecutor's office, in turn, announced the beginning of an inspection aimed at studying the circumstances and causes of the fire.
