Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the Investigative Committee of Russia on its 14th anniversary and noted the contribution of its employees to ensuring law and order in Donbas and Novorossiya. The text of the congratulation was published on the agency's website on January 15.

"I congratulate you on the Day of the formation of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation as an independent state body. <...> You are at the forefront of the fight against crime and corruption, protect the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens, firmly defend the interests of the state," the president said.

According to Putin, the Investigative Committee is a significant link in the domestic law enforcement system. He added that during the special operation, IC officers ensure legality and carry out "investigation of neo-Nazi crimes against civilians."

"I am convinced that you will continue to cherish and develop the best traditions of the veterans of the investigative bodies, to fulfill your official duty with dignity," the Russian leader concluded.

Earlier, on January 12, Putin congratulated employees and veterans of the Prosecutor's Office on their professional holiday. The President also emphasized that the agency, created more than three centuries ago, remains one of the most important links of the state system. According to him, the most serious approach and constant control of prosecutors requires the issue of providing social guarantees to the participants of the special military operation, as well as their families.
