For the first time in Russia, a conviction has been handed down in a criminal case of jeopardizing road safety in the city of Kaspiysk in Dagestan. This was reported in the press service of the State Automobile Inspection of the region on January 13.

"The justice of the peace of the peace of judicial district № 104 of the city of Kaspiysk considered the case against the driver accused under article 267.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for actions threatening the safe operation of vehicles", - stated in the message in Telegram-channel.

It is specified that the accused was assigned a fine of 180 thousand rubles. The sentence was imposed on an 18-year-old young man, who in 2023 deliberately drove into the lane of oncoming traffic. As noted in the traffic police, he fully admitted his guilt and applied for consideration of the case in a special order. During the investigation, mitigating circumstances were taken into account.

Earlier, on December 26, 2024, a criminal case was initiated against the driver of Mercedes, who hit a woman at a crosswalk in St. Petersburg. As a result of the accident, the woman received injuries incompatible with life. However, the perpetrator did not report the incident to the relevant authorities and fled the scene of the accident.
