On the coast of the Chukchi Sea on January 14, wind up to 33 m/s, frost up to -35 degrees Celsius and snowstorms are predicted. This was reported in the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Chukotka Autonomous District.

It is reported that under the action of the cyclone falls the municipal formation Egvekinot and Chukotka municipal district.

"January 14 is forecasted northwest wind with intensifications up to 33 m/s. The air temperature across the district - 18-23 degrees below zero, in the continental part up to 35 degrees of frost. <...> In connection with dangerous weather phenomena, the main department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Chukotka Autonomous Okrug recommends residents to observe safety measures during the bad weather. Without special necessity do not leave the limits of settlements, do not go to water bodies", - stated in the message of the agency.

At the same time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations urged car owners not to park cars near weakly secured structures to avoid damage to vehicles. Also rescuers recommend not to leave children unattended.

Earlier, on January 1, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations warned of frost up to -40 degrees Celsius and wind up to 30 m/s in Chukotka. In this regard, rescuers advised local residents not to leave the settlements, as well as not to approach dilapidated structures.

Before that, on December 31, a storm warning was announced in Anadyr, Chukotka Autonomous District, due to strong wind gusts up to 35-40 m/s.
