A munition exploded near the village of Budishche in the Kursk region, resulting in the scattering of explosive elements and mining of the area. This was reported by the head of Bolshezoldatsky district Vladimir Zaitsev on January 13.

Earlier in the day, two people were injured after the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked a civilian car in the Kursk region. The injured were hospitalized. The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case over the incident.

The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6 last year. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
