Ex-lawyer Pashayev's arrest in fraud case extended until March 15
The Moscow Garrison Military Court has extended the arrest of former lawyer Elman Pashayev for another two months in the fraud case. This was reported by Izvestiya correspondent from the courtroom on January 13.
So he will stay in custody until March 15.
Earlier in the day, another criminal case was opened against the ex-lawyer. The defense side of Pashayev advocated for the publicity of the trial, as well as the ex-lawyer did not admit guilt on any episode.
September 17 last year, a criminal case was initiated against Pashayev under Part 4 of Article 159 ("Fraud committed on a large scale"). The amount of damage amounted to Br18.5 million and $300 thousand. The ex-lawyer was detained and arrested, the last time his detention was extended until January 15.
According to investigators, in February 2024, Pashayev at a meeting with the husband of blogger Elena Blinovskaya Alexei convinced him of his ability to release his wife from criminal responsibility for a large sum. Blinovsky, in turn, handed over the money to Pashayev.
