Russians spent Br1 trillion on car services over the year
The total capacity of the service market for passenger cars in Russia amounted to Br1 trillion by the end of 2024. This was reported by the analytical agency "Autostat" on January 13. The market volume of maintenance (MRO) and repair services amounted to 594.2 billion rubles, and for leading services - 408.2 billion rubles.
Official dealers (47.3 billion rubles) accounted for 8% of the market for maintenance and repair services. Independent service stations occupied about five times as much (38%, or 225.3 billion rubles).
The experts estimated the market potential, i.e. works performed personally by car owners or private mechanics, at 54% (Br321.6 billion). Only the cost of the work itself was taken into account, without taking into account the sale of spare parts and consumables.
Russians spent Br177.7 billion on car washing, Br39.7 billion on tire fitting, and Br190.8 billion on body repair.
Also on this day in the committee of automakers of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said that if the current conditions are maintained, the Russian car market in 2025 may decline to 1.4 million, taking into account all supply channels, that is, approximately by 15%. Thus, the market volume may approach the figure of 2016.
Before that, on January 10, it was reported that at the end of 2024 car sales in Russia were the best for the last five years.
