Heavy machinery began cleaning fuel oil at the stern of the Volgoneft-239 tanker
In the Black Sea at the stern of the tanker "Volgoneft-239" heavy machinery began to clean up oil products after the tanker crash. This was reported on January 13 in the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region.
"Thanks to this, heavy machinery was able to start cleaning the water area from oil products. Fuel oil from the water surface is collected by an excavator. Then oil products are loaded into dump trucks, which were specially prepared and waterproofed," - noted in the Telegram-channel.
It is reported that the collected mixture of oil products and water is further taken to special enterprises for further utilization.
Earlier in the day, the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region reported that the bulk of the fuel oil that leaked from the stern of the tanker "Volgoneft-239" near the shore in the Temryuksky district, managed to collect with the help of an excavator. Small areas of pollution are removed by volunteers with shovels, collecting in bags.
At the same time, the head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov said that there were no global oil stains near the coast of the republic after the tanker crash. All the consequences of the oil spill near the coast of Crimea are planned to be eliminated by the beginning of the holiday season.
Tankers "Volgoneft-212" and "Volgoneft-239" due to bad weather crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group was set up to coordinate the work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
