The main part of the fuel oil that leaked from the stern of the tanker "Volgoneft-239" near the shore in the Temryuksky district was collected from the Black Sea. This was reported on January 13 in the Telegram-channel of the Krasnodar region's operative headquarters.
"The main mass of fuel oil was collected by an excavator as the road was laid. Now the remaining fragments are taken out of the water," - indicated in the regional operstab.
Specialists manually remove small strips of fuel oil near the shore with shovels into bags. The oil product was brought to the shore by booms and held to prevent it from spreading across the water area, the report said.
From January 10 to 13, installed more than 2 km of booms to localize fuel oil near the shore, barriers are regularly changed.
Earlier in the day, the head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov said that global fuel oil stains near the coast of the region after the crash of tankers in the Kerch Strait were not recorded, by the beginning of the holiday season it is planned to eliminate the consequences of the spill.
The tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024 due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group was set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
Later, on January 3, an oil slick was discovered in Sevastopol at the entrance to Balaklava Bay. The next day it was reported about the advance of fuel oil to the north along the Crimean coast, and Sevastopol declared a state of emergency of regional character.
On January 11, the emergency threat regime of a municipal nature was introduced due to the identified fuel oil stains in the Chernomorsky district in the west of Crimea.
