14 suspects in auto insurance fraud detained in Lipetsk region

In Lipetsk region, police officers detained 14 suspects in fraud in the field of auto insurance by staging road accidents. This was reported on January 13 by the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry Irina Volk in Telegram-channel.

It is reported that two fraudsters found accomplices who agreed to participate in the criminal scheme. Their task was to stage a traffic accident in special cars. Then the attackers applied to insurance companies to receive allegedly due to them payments.

It is specified that during the searches were extracted 20 cars, computer equipment, more than thirty bank cards and other items that relate to the evidence.

More than 30 criminal cases under Article 159.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud in the field of insurance") were initiated, which are combined into a single proceeding.

Earlier, on January 10, Irina Volk said that in the Moscow region police detained spouses who earned millions of rubles for fake comments on the marketplace. A criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud as part of an organized criminal group, fraud causing damage to the victim on a particularly large scale, fraud resulting in deprivation of the right of a citizen to residential premises").
