The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation will allocate Br70.2 billion for the purchase of foreign currency and gold. This is evidenced by a publication on the website of the ministry on January 13.
"The total amount of funds allocated for the purchase of foreign currency and gold is 70.2 billion rubles," - stated in the message.
It is noted that trading will be held from January 15 to February 6. It is planned that the daily purchase of foreign currency and gold in equivalent will amount to Br4.1 billion.
In addition, the department reported that in January the volume of additional oil and gas revenues of the Russian budget is projected at Br80.3 billion. At the same time, at the end of December 2024, the deviation of received oil and gas revenues from the expected volume amounted to -10.1 billion rubles.
Earlier, on January 9, Nikolai Vavilov, a specialist of the strategic research department of the TR company, in a conversation with Izvestia assessed the resumption of regular operations by the Central Bank (CB) of the Russian Federation within the framework of the budget rule on the domestic foreign exchange market. According to him, from January 15 to June 30 this year, the adjustment to the estimated volume of the CBR operations will amount to Br8.86 billion per day of additional sale of foreign currency within the budget rule.
Last year, on December 27, economist Andrei Barkhota told Izvestia about the Central Bank's change in the mechanism for calculating the official exchange rates of currencies against the ruble. According to him, the addition of elements of exchange dynamics to the algorithm for calculating exchange rates will reduce the gap between the official rate of the RF Central Bank and the rate, which is formed on the Forex market.
