More than 1 thousand broken trees removed in the Pskov region after the cyclone
In the Pskov Region, power engineers removed more than 1.2 thousand fallen trees from power lines. The network is being restored after Cyclone Charlie.
Bad weather led to mass blackouts throughout the region. According to "Pskov newswire" with reference to PJSC "Rosseti North-West", more than 19 thousand residents of the region were left without power supply.
The largest number of blackouts was recorded in Strugokrasnensky, Plusky, Pskov, Gdov, Porkhovsky and Pechorsky municipalities.
The consequences of the cyclone are being eliminated by all services, including EMERCOM, emergency crews and road workers. By the evening of Sunday, January 12, it was possible to connect about 5 thousand people.
"Rosseti North-West" additionally sent 10 emergency brigades to the Pskov region from other subjects of Russia. Initially, 99 brigades were engaged in restoration of power supply.
Earlier, on January 12, because of bad weather in the area of St. Petersburg airport Pulkovo 33 planes left for alternate airfields. Near Pulkovo continued heavy rainfall in the form of snow. In this regard, the air harbor did not send or receive flights. Trees were fallen in the city and the region. Residents of several districts of the Leningrad region were left without electricity and heat. Dozens of traffic accidents were recorded in the city and the region.
